iF product design award 2012 for the Wiha ClicFix telescopic magazine bit holder
Schonach – With its exceptional and innovative design, the ClicFix telescopic magazine bit holder by Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH has won an international design competition and been presented with the coveted iF product design award 2012. This award is given only to especially creative, innovative and high-quality products. With it, the long-established family company from the Black Forest region of Germany has asserted itself against more than 1,200 competitors from 48 countries.
The fact that Wiha places high quality requirements on its products have been verified with numerous awards. The latest example for the combination of multifunctionality, innovation and award-winning design is the Wiha ClicFix telescopic magazine bit holder, which is suitable for those who require a number of different drive profiles while working due to its integrated and swivelling bit magazine. Thanks to its compact size, it fits into any toolbox. The ergonomically-formed telescopic handle with ClickStop ball clamp ensures the adapter blades are gripped securely and length can be adjusted quickly. In addition, the magnetic ClicFix quick release holder and new bit storage/removal ensure bits can be changed quickly. Additionally, the adapter blade is suitable for direct use in a battery-powered screwdriver.
With this extension of the ClicFix telescopic magazine bit holder from the prize-winning magazine bit holder family, the long-established family company based in Schonach, Germany, has emphasised once more that tools can have more than just a single function. The Wiha magazine bit holder was already presented the red dot product design award in 2008 and the iF product design award in gold in 2010.
For almost six decades, the iF product design award has been honouring outstanding design achievements as a globally recognised "quality seal" for design excellence. In addition, the top-quality competition entries are particularly responsible for the sizeable international reputation of the iF design awards. An international jury of experts awards the iF product design award in 16 categories. This year, 1,218 entries were honoured as part of the four iF design awards – out of a total of 4,322 submissions from 1,605 participants in 48 countries. All award winners can be admired in the iF product design award museum.
