Schonach – Für die slim-Family sowie den ErgoStar erhält die Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH 2011 gleich zwei mal den Focus Open Award in Silber, welcher als internationaler Designpreis in Baden-Württemberg gilt. Aus 357 Einsendungen wurden 80 Produkte ausgewählt, darunter zwei Wiha Innovationen. Dass Wiha Werkzeuge nicht nur hoch funktional sind, sondern auch über ein herausragendes Design verfügen, ist bereits seit Jahren bekannt. Kein Wunder also, dass sich Wiha gleich über zwei Awards freuen darf.

Now, Wiha has expanded the slimFamily with slimTorque, once again proving the company's innovational strength and expertise in the VDE sector. The range includes innovative world product premieres which have never before been available in the tool branch. In addition to the new slimTECHNOLOGY and the pliers design unique in the sector, Wiha is presenting the ErgoStar as well as other highlights from its typically sophisticated and aesthetic Wiha range. As a consequence, the company is continuing to expand upon its market position and long-term expertise in the VDE sector. The long-established family company from the Black Forest region of Germany is participating for the first time in the only joint trade fair for electrical engineering, sanitation, heating and air-conditioning sectors, which will be held in Hamburg from November 17-19.

Schonach, Germany – the Wiha magazine bit holder and its little brother, the Wiha Stubby magazine bit holder, have just been presented with the coveted iF product design award 2010 in gold for a product family that features truly outstanding design. Both bit holders were able to successfully assert themselves against 2,486 products submitted from 39 countries. And Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH once again underlines that it is one of the most innovative manufacturers in the premium tool segment.

Schonach – Electricians in particular must face a wide variety of applications with sometimes difficult working conditions. VDE tools used in such environments must not only be rugged and flexible, but must also satisfy the highest demands in terms of quality and safety. A further commonly occurring problem for VDE fastening tools is limited access to low-lying fastening elements, narrow apertures and standard spring clips. The VDE safety insulation of screwdrivers often obstructs and prevents optimal access to fastening elements. The normal solution in practice is to compromise on safety, whether this means the use of non-insulated tools or perhaps even a shortening of the blade insulation.
