Wiha represented with world product premieres at the electronica 2010

Schonach, Germany – From 9 to 12 November 2010, Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH is presenting its high-quality ESD and electronics product lines at the electronica in Munich. They include innovative world product premieres which have never before been available in the tool branch. In addition to the ErgoStar and slimTECHNOLOGY, visitors and the professional audience can look forward to a typically sophisticated and aesthetic Wiha assortment.

Wiha recognized the major potential in the ESD field early and earned a leading position in this highly-specialised market segment with its extremely comprehensive assortment of ESD tools. “With its ESD assortment, Wiha covers the complete bandwidth ranging from standard to special applications, serving both hobby craftsmen and professional users,” reports Matthias Schmidt, Product Manager at Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH. All tools are tested and are in accordance with the international ESD DIN IEC 61340 standard. In addition, the products are equipped with electrostatically discharging (dissipative) handles which have a defined surface resistance of 106-109 Ohm. Specialised, premium quality materials are used for tool manufacturing that guarantee discharging properties, thus also ensuring safe, or 'soft' discharging. For more than ten years now, Wiha has been combining the advantages of its ergonomic tools with effective ESD protection.

Innovative: The new Wiha pliers generation
At the electronica, Wiha is presenting its new pliers generation which sets new standards in terms of design and functionality. The product line is impressive with its very attractive, modern pliers design which extends to all our pliers. With this one-of-a-kind, uniform design, Wiha has secured a clear unique selling point in the pliers market. Functionally, with the ‘DynamicJoint’ pliers joint, Wiha is introducing an innovation with real user benefits. “The new 40:60 joint geometry reveals cutting performance improved by up to 40 percent for diagonal cutters and combination pliers when compared to conventional pliers, with very low force of power,” explained Thomas Schlieter, Marketing Manager at Wiha. For users this means maximum cutting performance with a minimum expenditure of effort, even after 1,200 cuts. This has been confirmed by the TÜV Süd who inspected the DynamicJoint power joint in an independent benchmark test together with well-known competitors and hailed the product as the overall winner.

A world premiere: the Wiha ErgoStar
With an innovative rotary movement, the Wiha ErgoStar has solved the problem of complicated key extraction in an ingenious way. Rotating any L-key in the holder means that all keys are opened, and all keys then rotate to the side as if by magic. In this way a flowing movement, 'with one turn' so to speak, presents all L-keys ready for convenient removal. Effective clamping makes sure that the keys cannot fall out, with both closed and open holders. A further incentive is the especially handy, compact design.

The innovation for VDE fastening tools
Customer benefits are at the forefront of all Wiha innovations. For example, the unique slimTECHNOLOGY of the Wiha SoftFinish® electric screwdriver offers unlimited accessibility. With integrated insulation, the completely VDE-certified and GS-tested solutions have blades up to 33% narrower. These are still characterised by outstandingly high performance and significantly surpass stipulations for torque. The user-oriented handle size concept of skin-friendly material ensures comfortable handling. Wiha slimTECHNOLOGY is offered in three different slim systems: slimFix (standard screwdriver), slimVario (exchange bit system) and slimTorque. In the sector of quality screwdrivers Wiha also offers the Wiha SoftFinish® as a single-pole voltage tester.

A focus on safety
Wiha presents another world product premiere with the MagicTips circlip pliers. Thomas Schlieter: “Notches have been incorporated into the tips that 'grasp' the safety ring and hold it firmly while working. Jumping away of the safety ring is almost completely prevented by the innovative Wiha solution.” The tips, machined from high performance steel, guarantee significantly greater load capacity over the complete service life and achieve a service life that is ten times longer in comparison to conventional pliers.

All innovations and further sophisticated solutions from the ESD sector can be tested and inspected at the Wiha Werkzeuge GmbH stand at the electronica. Wiha is already looking forward to your visit to Hall A1 at Stand 267!
