Those who enthuse the specialists are able to crown their product creations with the red dot, thus firmly positioning themselves on an international level. In this year's contest, the jury had the formidable task of choosing winners from over 4,662 entries in 19 different categories. Only the best designs convinced the jury, with Wiha iTorque and Wiha BitBuddy from the MaxxTor family clinching the red dot for the excellent design concept.

The world-renowned seal of quality will be awarded on 1st July 2013 at the traditional red dot gala. The awards ceremony in the Aalto Theatre is always the highlight of the red dot award: product design, and has established itself as a major date in the diaries of international guests. This will be followed by a four-week special exhibition of Wiha iTorque and Wiha BitBuddy in the red dot design museum. Both products were also recently distinguished with the iF product design award 2013.

iTorque – the first intelligent torque screwdriver
The "i" in iTorque represents the characteristics of this unique product: intelligent,
innovative and individual. As a mechatronic model, it combines high precision with
simple handling. For example, the integrated counter records each application and
displays its actual number. In conjunction with the specially adjustable alarm function, testing equipment monitoring is now easier and more individual than ever before.

BitBuddy with MaxxTor bits: A step ahead in screws
The new bit box does the work more quickly and efficiently than ever before. With

Professor Peter Zec, initiator and CEO of red dot, stated that today, exceptional design competence and economic success go hand in hand. Nowadays it is increasingly difficult to distinguish well-designed products from each other. Truly exceptional creations often only become apparent when the details are inspected. However, the products that impress the critical eyes of the international red dot jury will never fade into the crowd and are destined to become extremely competitive on the international market."

The winning products in the red dot design museum
The red dot design museum hosts some 2,000 products on over 4,000 square metres, making it the world's largest exhibition of contemporary designs. From 2nd to 28th July 2013, the traditional special exhibition will unveil the victorious products to the public. "Design on stage - winners red dot award: product design 2013" invites design enthusiasts to admire the latest trends at first hand. Touching the objects is expressly encouraged, enabling visitors to really discover the prize-winning design of Wiha products within the breathtaking atmosphere of the red dot design museum.
