Product innovations of 2023, such as the Wiha tool backpack or the XXL4 tool case trolley were also included at the fair. Overall, Wiha is very satisfied with the final outcome of this year's Hardware Fair and is delighted with the consistently positive market reactions of the numerous visitors from all over the world to the new products and sustainable POS offers.
Wiha introduced the latest member of its screwdriver range, the“one-in-all” PocketDrive. For retailers this innovation provides the opportunity of reaching an extensive range of users and customers of a great variety of sectors. The functional combination of a quick and power-saving electrical drive with automatic material protection stop function (1 Nm or 5 Nm), coupled with the option of using it as a fully-fledged manual screwdriver, its application options are more varied than ever before. Whether delicate or powerful fastening, the multi-faceted tool can be used for a wide range of applications. “It was our aim with the PocketDrive to provide a general audience with the enormous advantages of combining the function of automatic plus manual fastening. Its counterpart, which is already fully established in the electrical sector, the electric screwdriver speedE® II electric, has been very successful since its market launch due to its special specifications. The speedE® PocketDrive now promises to open the door on a much larger market and introduce “speed” to the daily lives of retailers and users – whether in terms of sales or the art of fastening screws,” explained Wiha marketing manager Sven Wilde. Delivery to the retailers and the official start of all communication activities will begin in mid-April.
Similarly popular at its launch at the Cologne fair was also the Wiha tool backpack with two content variations. In 2023, it has already been honoured four times with product design awards. A few days ago at the Light+Building trade fair, it received its fifth and most recent Designplus Award by Light + Building. “In the year of its market launch, the backpack has already demonstrated its great success and potential as a classical A product for our retail partners. Our users are thrilled by the individualisation possibilities, while its extra storage space offers many options for adding products and increased profit margins at the POS,” said Sven Wilde. During the four days of the fair, visitors were able to discover the advantages of the Wiha bestseller first hand.
The products presented in Cologne included other Wiha top sellers, such as the multifunctional pliers 8in1 electric or the XXL 4 tool case trolley with its newly configured content. “The feedback from the fair clearly confirmed to us that the combination of powerful individual products and tool assortment solutions with high profit margin potential is highly appreciated and considered to be a formula for success;” concluded Sven Wilde.
According to the motto “Sustainable with wood”, the German manufacturer also presented new wooden displays and towers in the area of POS solutions for “product presentations according to the latest trends and a powerful signal effect for retailers,” said Wilde. “Already during and after the last hardware fair of 2022, where we introduced the wooden POS solutions, we received such positive feedback from retailers, visitors and other fair exhibitors that we could only proceed in one direction: continuing and expanding this range of solutions. The desire for sustainable solutions is very present everywhere today and it is a challenge for retailers to respond to this market request through an authentic overall image. We provide a complete package of product, packaging and POS concept that helps our partners do just that,” he concluded.
