Manual tool manufacturer Wiha is presenting a new variation of their electric screwdriver range – the speedE® PocketDrive. It is distinguished by its versatility and maximised range of application options. Whether screw connections of sensitive components, fixation tasks in shell construction, work on cable channels, industrial mounting tasks, or wood screw connections, for example, for furniture assembly – as a truly all-round tool, the new Wiha screwdriver with electric drive is the ideal daily companion for a great variety of professionals and areas of work. Fastening jobs are completed much faster, power saving and gentler on muscles and joints compared to fastening by hand.
Wiha Marketing manager Sven Wilde said: “The development of the PocketDrive is the logical consequence of the great success we are experiencing with the speedE® electric II. With its specific characteristics, such as, for example the combination with insulated slimBits or the precisely adjustable material protection function, this screwdriver has been facilitating the work of professional electricians for many years. It was now our aim to develop another electric screwdriver variation whose design makes it an all-round tool that facilitates the various fastening tasks of a wide range of users in their daily life. We have succeeded in accomplishing this with the PocketDrive.”
Two selectable material protection levels at which the automatic turning function stops allow very delicate as well as powerful fastening. If, for example, 4x60 mm screws are to be fastened in spruce wood, the stronger level can be selected at the push of a button, with which the speedE® PocketDrive will electrically fasten the screws up to 5 Nm. For delicate components and work that requires a sensitive touch, the force can be limited to 1.0 Nm at the push of a button to protect the material against damage from potentially overtightening the screw.
Its classical screwdriver shape design is pleasant to handle, while the integrated motor protection at the same time maintains its function as a conventional manual screwdriver. It can be used to classically fasten screws by hand either very delicately or very powerfully. The enclosed bit box in combination with the magnetic bit holder offers a selection of 30 bits, i.e. maximum flexibility for all types of fastenings.
Six powerful LED spotlights illuminate the entire workspace shadow-free. The light and compact design also allows easy handling for overhead screw connections or for applications in confined work spaces. It can be easily stored and transported in pants pockets for daily use. Its special handle design with flattened elements serves as convenient protection from rolling away. If the battery is empty, it can be recharged for the next use with the enclosed USB-C cable.
