Introduced in spring 2023, the tool backpack sets from hand tool manufacturer Wiha received the German Design Award 2024 and the PLUS X Award in four categories. Following the Red Dot Award 2023 and FOCUS OPEN Silver 2023, these two additional awards for the Wiha tool backpacks underline their special design quality. The multifunctional pliers 8in1 electric, which were newly introduced in autumn, also received the German Design Award 2024. The whole team in Southern Germany is thrilled.
The German Design Award is the most prestigious award of the Rat für Formgebung (German Design Council). With its global range and international recognition it is considered to be one of the most prestigious design awards across the entire sector. The "winner" recognition honours exceptional and exemplary design efforts, selected by a jury of professionals in the respective category. Sven Wilde, Wiha Marketing manager, said: “We are very proud that not just one, but two of our products were recognised with the German Design Award this year. By regularly participating in competitions we deliberately expose our products to international comparisons and an external jury of experts. When this results in an award, it means very much to us. The Wiha tool backpack sets also received the PLUS X Award 2023/2024 in a total of four categories – high quality, design, user convenience and functionality. The Plus X Award is considered to be one of the world's most important innovation awards for technology, sports, and lifestyle products. It was initiated around 20 years ago as a project for the protection and enhancement of brands and trade along with the improved orientation of end consumers. The award categories honour outstanding and key purchase product characteristics and help to quickly and unequivocally recognise the added value of an award-winning product compared to its competitors.

They can be used just as easily for stripping, crimping, fastening, deburring or bending. A switchable opening spring allows smooth working when activated and safe space-saving storage when deactivated. The comfortable two-component handle is gentle on hands and muscles. Similar to all Wiha tools with VDE test certificate, the pliers are individually tested at 10,000 V AC and approved up to 1,000 V AC.
